Lost it at 21 weeks

Again, we lost our baby.

We just went to the hospital last March 3 for my regular check up and it was special because this is the time that we will know the gender. Sadly, they didn't found a heartbeat and the baby stopped growing. The baby's size is only 17 weeks and it was supposed to be 21 weeks already. Our OB asked us to get a second opinion and we did because my husband didn't seem to believe that our baby is dead.

We went to another OB and did another set of ultrasound. Same results. Our baby is dead.

After getting in the car, both of us cried and hugged each other like the world fell in front of us. Iyak nanaman kami pareho. Sobrang sakit. Alam mo yung for a time ayokong hawakan yung tyan ko kasi di ko matanggap na patay na sya.

Buong gabi, magkayakap kami.

Na nagsosorry ako kasi feeling ko I failed him as his wife, I failed to give him a baby, na ako yung may diperensya, na nasasaktan ako kasi nasaktan ko sya.

Nung nagising ako nung umaga, hawak nya yung kamay ko.

So nagcheck out na kami, tapos kinausap nya ako kung okay ako. Sabi ko: "Kaya natin to. Malalagpasan natin to."

- Kakayanin nating dalawa to.

Hanggang ngayon masakit pa rin. Lalo na may breastmilk pa ako. Nakakatawa diba?

WOW. Ambilis mo naman makamove on?! Hintay mo muna ako makamove on?

PINIPILIT KONG MAGING MATIBAY TALAGA. Ano another heartache ulit? Another sakit nanaman, paasa nanaman.

Hai ewan. Sana maging okay na ako. Yung totoong okay na.

5 Months Preggo!

I just read the last blog about my first angel and now I'll blog about my upcoming baby!

I can't believe after all the drama, God finally answered our prayer, I am now in my 2nd trimester :)

It has been an easy journey for me and I have to thank my baby for making it easy for Mommy. I just had 2 vomits for the past 5 months, swollen breast (it really really hurts!), bloated tummy, back-acne, super dry hair, darkening of my armpits (so sad) and the appearance of linea negra in my tummy. So far so good. No weird cravings, I am not sensitive to smell and travelling is very easy for me. (I went to Indonesia and Thailand on my 1st Trimester)

Next weekend we'll have the gender revealed!!! Were so excited!

Change topic...

I'm currently watching This is us. An american series about a couple, how they started their family, how they experience loss and happiness, etc. I'm so emotional. Since my husband went on a vacation with his staff and I'm left alone for two nights. #cryfest #clingypreggo

This got me into thinking, I don't know if this is the preggo hormones or what, but I want to be the first one dies. If I experience another loss (talking about our 1st baby and all the heart aches experience in the past) I can't do it anymore. I mean, my husband is much stronger that me, he's so positive in everything, he can continue life without me (I think), he can get another girl and re-marry.

Basta. Di ko kakayanin.

Birth month of my first unborn

October is my 1st favorite month of the year. Why? Because it's my birth month! Yup. I'm welcoming the number THREE ZERO with open arms and beginning another chapter in my life, another decade to fill with new memories.

It's also the birth month of my first angel. I don't know the exact date of her birthday but I know it's in the last week of October. I'm happy to celebrate our birthday together. (okay, I'm starting to cry now and this is supposed to be a happy post)

I don't want to question God but I can't help myself to question:
... Why did I have to experience this?
... Are we not ready yet?
... I know I want to have a baby, but how come it's more than a year since my miscarriage and still I'm not pregnant?
... WHY.

For my dear husband

Writing about you, our relationship, our friendship, our team is difficult because no words can explain how thankful I am to have this lifetime spent with you. Though at times, we don't understand each other, we have difficulties and we get to each other's nerves, please know that I can live because of you, that I am at my best version of myself because you pushed me to be better, to do more and to grow more -with you. You inspire me to reach for my dreams and to think positive even at difficult times.

People often asks me, may pinagaawayan pa ba kayo? You look so happy together.
Maybe because we chose our battles wisely, we don't show others our struggles because were mature enough to solve it on our own.

Thank you for everything.

I love you.

Holiday realizations

I haven't been updating my blog. Huhu! I AM SORRY.

Anyway, I opened my brother's hard drive and found old pictures and videos of me and my ex. Epic! My first reaction was: Ang payat ko. OMG. I need to get back in shape. PLEASE. and as I continue to browse, I felt happy because what I saw are good memories. As in literal na Laughing Out Loud. HAHAHA! He was my bestfriend since 4th year high school until 2010. I don't regret giving up our friendship because it led me to a much more good life.
P.S. If ever my ex's wife read this, okay lang na ijudge mo ako na hindi pa ako nakapagmove on or bitter. Hehe! I'm just happy. And I want to thank you for giving my ex-bestfriend a life he deserves. :)

Anyway...

Today, I am so thankful to God that he gave everything that I needed. I'm turning 29 this year and I'm thinking what I want to give myself or iparegalo (HAHAHA) kaso... wala na ako maisip na material things.

All I want?
- Learn new skills
- To gain more experience
- To be a better version of myself
- To see the world
- To work and reach my dreams
- To have a better career
- To be selfless

and for me to have this? Is just to work on myself more. Hehehe!

MrsD Garden: Update

When my Mom bought me my very first plant, Kalachuchi (Name: Theon), I got addicted to planting ever since. I tried my luck to plant a few edible, flower bearing and display plants. I also tried planting from seeds, fully grown and straight from vegetable seeds (I just dried it). And because of my astonishment that I grew several plants without drowning them or drying them, I became enthusiastic to brag about my gardening skills to my family and friends. I even influenced some of my friends to plant! My family on the other hand, gave me some of their plants.

Last April, my Basil, Green bell pepper and Milflores plant died because I didn't water them for a week due to my recent hospitalization. I tried to revive my Basil because its roots is still alive but I ran out of patience to wait. #sad

Now, my little garden is growing. I have my first baby, Theon (Kalachuchi), Morning Glory, Okra, Snake Plant, Welcome plant, two cactus and succulents.

Then I came across this blog where she talks about Carnivorous plants and where to get them. I visited their site Pitcher Plant Farm. The Pitcher Plant Farm was located at Malaybalay, Bukidnon - owned by a German, Mr. Volker Heinrich. He specializes in growing different kinds of carnivorous plants - Pitcher plants, Sundews, Butterworth, Bladderworth, Stylidium and the famous Venus Flytrap.

When I saw the Venus Flytrap, I felt the connection! HAHAHA! I fell in love with it instantly!!! Its so beautiful and wild. So vicious but too pretty. Okay my excitement can't get enough of me! I clicked buy and checked out! Yey!!! I have an exotic plant coming in next week :)

And as I read how to grow this beauty, it states that it is very delicate and not easy to grow so wish me luck!

Marriage 101: Fights - Do we have to tell others?

Ali and I are still new to being a married couple. We had several fights here and there, and were not used to telling other people our problems because we want to resolve it on our own.

Last weekend, we had a huge fight and we had to cancel our social events to fix our problem, compromise and reconcile. I am a little bit of guilty though because when my relatives asks me "why didn't you come? Nagtatampo na si Tito mo" I don't want to blurt to everyone that were having a problem and were trying to settle it. I am a very private person when it comes to my problems. I know, sometimes you have to seek help so it will not be a solo burden. But do I really need to tell everyone that we have a problem? I mean its for us to solve anyway. Right?

English Bulldog talk

I was having a stressful night because of my commute on the way to Blake's for my parents' wedding anniversary dinner. We had a scrumptious dinner, we talked about how everyone was doing, jokes, and my husband and dad's never ending car talks. We moved to our parent's house for dessert. that's when my husband blurted out: "My officemate is selling English Bulldog for only Php15,000!!!" So we all reacted: WEH!!! and I'm like: Sana di mo na bnrought up kasi I know you won't allow me to buy one kasi we live in a condo and no one will take care of it. Huhubels! and then my husband changed the topic. Okaaaaaaayy...
A brief background: I am a dog lover!!! and my husband knows that I super super wish to have one ever since. I like the english bulldog because its extremely cute, lazy and can grow like a pig. HAHAHA! That makes it cute btw. So I always ask my husband to bring me to Tiendesitas for a free realness (viewing and touching) of EBulldog. Its also so expensive -- tumataginting na 45K!!! Anyway...

On our way home, Ali brought the English bulldog topic again and I told him how I felt (na sana he didn't brought it up nalang bla bla) then he said:
You know, I would love to buy you one kasi it will bring you extreme happiness lalo na sa akin kasi I know you'll love it. Kaya nga nagssource ako eh, kaya lang I want you to understand na hindi pa pwede kasi nasa condo tayo and walang maiiwan sa kanya, sa liit ng condo, di naman tayo pwede maglagay ng cage nya dun and also imagine the smell of his poops. Don't worry, if nakalipat na tayo yun ang unang una kong ibibigay sayo.

Explanation SOLD!!! I love how my husband put my happiness in his priorities and I'm very thankful for his way of making me understand things. I am blessed because God gave me someone whos the exact opposite of me so we can exchange our different views and learn from each other.

Lalala...

New beginnings

The negativity, the unprofessionalism, the backstabbing, the unwanted relationship --- I had to end it all. Though I still miss my previous work, I had to move forward. I am very lucky to be accepted in one of the leading Online Travel Agencies in Asia. I'm still on training and I managed to go to work 1 hour before. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

Anyway, I am really working hard to sustain my punctuality nowadays. Though I got late at my gardening workshop last Saturday, I still managed to go to work very early for 7 days now. YEHEY!  I'm so proud of myself! And I kinda like it. Fourteen more days to go so I can make it a habit. And then I'll be influencing my husband as well.

I'm trying to get my mojo back because I'm lazy as hell, because I'm still learning and not busy at work.

Dilation and Curettage

A procedure to scrape and collect the tissue (endometrium) from inside the uterus. Dilation is a widening of the cervix to allow instruments into the uterus. Curettage is the scraping of the walls of the uterus.

After I found out that our Baby D died in my womb after a week of my last ultrasound, we still waited a week and a half for me to bleed and contract naturally. And maybe our baby still wants to be with me because I didn't feel any contractions or blood spotting at all. So my doctor advised me to go back to her last Friday, but due to work related matters, I postponed my visit and instead went to the hospital early the next day. As my ever supportive Mom went with me because Ali needs to report for work (I love you Ma for being with me the whole time).

My doctor looked at my cervix and it still not open. So she puts a gel medicine for me to contract and bleed. My Mom was with me the whole time in the hallway of the delivery room. I heard new born babies crying every hour and I just felt so hurt at that time that I can't stop crying. I called "GOD" and still didn't ask any questions. Maybe my Mom saw me crying so she talked to me to help me calm down.

Everyone knows that I'm afraid of operations/ surgery of any kind. Like my lips! I didn't ask my parents to fix my lips because I'm too afraid to have a plastic surgery kahit sabihin pa nila na malayo sa bituka at sandali lang ang operation-- I don't care. I lived with it for the past 28 years and its still present until now. Its my battle scar, my trade mark, my agimat and my beauty secret (maganda pa rin ako kahit may menchi ako. Lelz) All I'm saying is that, I'm not ready for an instant operation. I prepared myself for baby delivery procedure or CS but not D and C. It's too soon indavance ng 6 months! Eh wala naman ako magagawa. I just have to suck it all up and give it to God. As God is greater than anything lalo na ang fear ko. I know God will take care of me. Kaya when I started bleeding, I actually felt nothing. When the nurses started to move me to the operating room, parang wala na ako sa sarili, I let go.

The last question that I answered was "Saan ka nakatira Liah?" and I'm out. I woke up at the recovery room. I woke up crying knowing that my baby is gone forever and he/she is not in my tummy anymore. "GOD"...

After two and a half hours (30 minutes D & C procedure and 2 hours recovery) I stepped out of the pre-labor room and saw my family waiting for me. I felt warm, I felt loved, I felt complete and still blessed because they were there smiling at me. I let go, I let God take over me.

Four days after my operation, I'm still staying here at my parents house. I'm very thankful for my husband because he always encourages me to be strong - though alam niya na deep inside me I'm still hurt (physically and emotionally), my parents because they've been with us from the start. My Mom and Dad took a leave from their work just to take care of me. Thank you to my Lolas, Lolo, Titas and cousins who visited me at my parents' house and to all wished me to be well. Thank you God for keeping me safe and for taking care of Baby D.

Our first Baby D

There's a feeling that I can't seem to figure out after my period got delayed for just 2 days. So I took a pregnancy test. POSITIVE!!! I woke Ali at 6am and the first thing he said to me is: "Gusto mo ng fruits?" Hahaha! We bought another PT and once again, positive. We are now pregnant! I announced it to our reunion (this was on the day when I took the PT). My whole family was so excited for us!

I went to my OB for my first check up and first IE. She told us the do's and don'ts, what vitamins and meds to take and scheduled me for my first ever ultrasound.

Ultrasound day came, and we confirmed that we are really pregnant! I have a healthy uterus, yolk sac, a growing embryo and everything was fine. Ali and I are so happy and overflowing with love. This baby brought instant joy to me and my family. My next schedule of ultrasound and fetal heartbeat was at 3 weeks. Well, to tell you honestly, I was more excited to see my baby again than Holyweek, Hahaha!

My pregnancy was easy, I didn't have nausea, morning sickness etc, My "lihi" stage begun and I want to eat Santol. Its so funny because Santol will only be available on June. My husband, family, my family's friends and office mates are all looking for santol! Oh I sooooo feel loved. My Tita from the states went to La Union and Baguio and they are looking for Santol. Nakakataba lang ng puso. Oh Baby D, you are so loved and you're not even born yet!

Fetal Hearbeat day came and my doctor didn't seem to see a heartbeat, blood coloration or moving tissue. I was so heartbroken. This is much worse and much painful than any other pain that I experienced for the past 28 years. My tears start to fall when my doctor told us that there's no heartbeat. My husband, strong as he is, told me to keep calm and don't assume until she talked to us further regarding Baby D's condition. When I saw the findings, it is considered an early intrauterine fetal demise or fetal death. I still managed to control my tears and even smile at my doctor.

She told me that she'll give me another week because sometimes (not to give me us a false hope) there's a miracle. Na bigla nalang merong heartbeat. So we will be back next Monday for another ultrasound and hopefully hear Baby D's heartbeat. If still no sign of pumping, or growing then I'm sorry, we have to say goodbye to our first Baby D.

I broke down in the car on our way home. I am talking to our Baby D in my head and praying for him. Yun na lang naman ang magagawa ko. To pray that he'll continue to grow, to develop a heartbeat. I don't have the right to question God why this happened. I just called his name, yun lang, because I know he has a better plan for us and for our Baby.

It hurts a lot and I mean A LOT! I can't stop crying when I think about it. Looking at my last ultrasound was so painful. Thankfully I have my husband, my Mom and Dad to support me. Its devastating to think about the time that they will have to remove him inside my tummy. Its like I want him there nalang. I don't want to detach myself to him because he will be forever gone.

My dearest Baby D,  Mommy and Daddy loves you sooooooooooooo much. If you can still grow, please do because there are so many people waiting for you and wants to love you too! But if you want to rest, and you're in pain, Mommy will understand. You'll be in a much happier place and God will take care of you. But I'm still hoping to meet you soon, okay? Mahal na mahal kita, anak.

"GOD" ...

I need to love myself a little more

I think what I'm lacking is the love for myself part. I had so many grudges, I can't control my anger anymore, take it all out on Ali, self pity, and thinking that I am a "victim" all the time. They say that you should love yourself first before you love others or asking them to do the "loving" before yourself. Which I agree and I am looking forward to do and start asap.

and when is the bestest time to start? --- No better time other than today, that is because it is Valentines Day. Love is not only for lovers, but its love for your self, family and friends as well.

What to do...

1. Stop comparing yourself to others. (STOP LOOKING AT FACEBOOK!)
- Our fight last night was about his company event and I am sulking the whole night because I didn't have a date or a surprise from him. Because yes, I envy those girls who got surprises from their husbands on the eve of Valentines. I just wanted to have flowers or potted flower plant, I want him to give me chocolates, or a letter. A LOVE LETTER. But he shows up 2am having no surprise/flowers/letter/chocolates. Sumama talaga loob ko. I want to feel loved and appreciated.
Realization:  If I hadn't looked and spent the night looking on Facebook, I think there's a little chance that I didn't sulk or envy. Maybe, I will be grateful that I am with my family celebrating my cousin's 19th birthday and cry for the "aww" moments of my uncle with his daughter. I should be laughing with my Titas, singing my heart out and just be thankful that my husband survived his 1st car show and went home as fast as he could to be with me and my family.

2. I will start to write my blessings everyday. Write something I did good everyday and what I love about myself.
- It is when I write (kahit wrong grammar pa, kebs na!) that I have this realizations, good and bad. I need and want to count my blessings. To feel good about myself and to know what to improve about myself. I really want to change you know, its just so hard. Small steps. Small steps.

3. I want to be closer to God again.
- Don't get me wrong here okay. I just don't pray as often as before. I go to church not every Sunday but to when my schedule is free nalang. And I think that I can't do this "love myself" program without his guidance. So I just need to put it here.

4. Be inspired about what you like about other people and be that!
- What I like/ admire about other people is what I want to become. Examples:
Ali: I admire his passion for work. I admire his "helping" attitude. I admire his positivity.
Rinika: She's the most thoughtful person I know.
April: No lates, very very punctual.
My Mom: Very calm, Can control her feelings and the most generous person I know.
Judy: Her passion for makeup and looking good.
Mama: The most patient of all.
Iryss: Her initiative at work.
Sigrid: No pretensions
Clang: Goal oriented. Knows what she wants. Career woman.
Kit: Also very patient, calm and always look good.
CFCF: Her love for her family and friends

5. Exercise
- This is all about emotional and physical. Exercise helps me lose weight and losing weight means loving what I look like and my body. Though even though I'm fat (now) I still need to love my body, what I look like and be confident about it.

6. Accept my flaws and change for the better.
- I know all of us have flaws and bad attitude. So I really need to identify my good and bad attitude to determine what I need to change and to improve.

I have lots of work to do but I need to do this for myself. After myself, next is the people around me and how I influence and react towards them.

I should do this more often.

Davao

It is my second time to go to Davao City. My first time was with my previous workmates. When we went there, we didn't explore the city but we went to Touristy places like Crocodile Farm, Eden Park and Davao Zoo.

I miss my workmates and all the fun adventures we did on my first time here but I didn't get to
explore the city more than I do on my second time around. Well it is because our main business why we went here is for business and to promote our Hotels and Resorts. I am forever grateful for this opportunity that my company has given me. I am just lucky to have a company that shares my best interest in life - traveling. Talking about mixing business with pleasure.

We stayed at Pinnacle Hotel. It is located at the heart of Davao City, a few minutes walk from Gaisano Mall and Matina Central. They were kind to accept our request for an early check in because we had an early 7AM flight.

After a few cat naps we headed to Nanay Bebeng's for a heavy lunch. This is the start of our Davao food trips. Hahaha! Nanay Bebeng's serves local Davao specialties like Crabs, Tuna, Blue Marlin, Sinigang etc. in buffet style! OMG. PAPAK KUNG PAPAK! I love their young corn dish. Yun ata yung talagang pinapak ko aside from crabs. Haha!

We started working after lunch and after a long work day, we had a cute dinner at Sea Green Cafe in Magsaysay Ave. It is a cute cafe with my current favorite color design (Sea green / sea foam green), very chic and with rustic theme. I like how this cafe made me feel so relaxed and very homey knowing that this day was a very energy draining one. So Comfort food it is! We ordered three different kinds of pasta, Vegetable Pesto Pasta, Salmon Carbonara and Plain carbonara. All three pasta was so good and the best part is, it is all organic! The owner was also very accommodating.

Our first day in Davao was definitely a game changer for us. We called 10 accounts in our half day and most importantly, I had a great time with these ladies because I got to know them more deeply.

Sunday Ramblings

I thank God for my loving, hard working, kind and generous partner, my life changer, husband. Even though we are total opposites of each other, he compliments my well being, he fills up the blank space in my life and my weakness are his strengths. I could go on and on about our relationship.

As a married couple, I know that were just starting our journey in this hard but inspiring adventure of togetherness. We still have a long way to go but I see us pulling each other up. We are a team, we make sure that we agree and compromise on each other's needs and give each other space to grow as an individual. We truly love each other and we are devoted on our marriage duties as husband and wife. We learn from each other and we learn from others' experiences.

Just recently, I heard some sad stories about a friend having a hard time with her marriage. Its just sad to know that she's only been married for 7 months and now having trouble with her husband. She's getting advice from me on how to fix their problems but she's always saying: "I just wish that I didn't marry him" I am really bothered by this. You took a vow, in front of your families, friends, office mates and most importantly to God that you will be there for each other for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health.

Her husband (as per my friend's story) changed after they got married. They don't talk and they argue a lot to the point that they want to rip their marriage contracts apart. My friend was bothered by her husband's reaction when she's looking at his phone. She's suspecting that her husband has a deeper "friend" relationship with his colleague, which I hope is not true. I wish and pray for them.

I am just blessed that I have Ali in my life. He's my rock and my world. He's not only a good provider but the bestestest luvah! Thank you God for giving me such a great person and a marriage with no pretensions.

Blog Schedule

I've been so SOOOO busy with work since April and because my new job demands tremendous amount of time, I didn't have the luxury to write anymore. I am not complaining about the time struggle, but I am so grateful (more than grateful actually) that I had the opportunity of doing my dream job. I am enjoying every tiny bit of my new work that my weeks and hours became so fast.

I plan to write every Sunday morning, while my husband is still sleeping soundly, while I am done or still cooking breakfast and after watering my one and only Theon. I need to catch up on my blog because I have so many kwentos and chikkas for all my readers out there. (as if I have one! Lelz)

So let's start with our house. My husband and I decided to rearrange our little nook because we bought a new bed. Yey!!! Its white, like a box and has a storage or a third person bed.

We have been sleeping overtime in our new bed. Consequence? Were always running late for work. Ang sarap kaya matulog kapag may kama. Hahaha! Our family and friends are always teasing us that because of our new bed, the baby they are all looking forward to is abruptly coming. Wish us well! Hehe!

Another addition to our home is our Pinewood Dining. We are still planning to cut the table because it will eat up a lot of space. Its too long and good for a four seater. We bought it at Pioneer seat and table sale. We got the three pieces at only Php3,500!!! Great catch! Will post about Pioneer Sales soon.

Lastly is our dear Theon. My Mom as a plant lover like my Lolo, bought a Kalachuchi dwarf plant at Manila East Greenhouse. This is where we bought our wedding souvenirs to our Principal Sponsors. So Tita ( I didn't get her name) remembers me and gave me a small Kalachuchi plant. And because it will be my FIRST ever plant in my life, I decided to give it a name. Theon :) A little history where I got the name Theon: My husband and I are so fond of watching Game of Thrones and Theon Greyjoy has the cutest name. That's all. HAHAHA!

Theon grew leaves and became taller each and every week! That's why I have a Theon album in my phone where I took picture of him every week. He was like our first baby, a living thing in our house, a thing that actually leans on me (by lean, I mean watering, fertilizing and putting him in the sun). At Theon's second week, my husband says: "Si Theon parang puno na" I laughed so hard!!! I guess I have a green thumb after all.

Theon at 1 week
Theon at 2 weeks
Theon at 3 weeks
I always smile when my husband and I talk about how fast Theon grew in 3 weeks. It was like a real baby to us and it reflect how we are as soon to be parents. When I forgot to place Theon in the sun, my husband will place him and water him too! It feels so good to see my husband take care of something (a living thing) other than our car. Hehehe!

Anyway, I'm getting hungry.. So see you next Sunday!

First Year Anniversary: Mambukal Resort and Seven Waterfalls

I haven't been updating my blog lately due to a lot of fun at work. As you all know, I transferred into a new department and I really need to study hard to know all the basics. I'm having a good time working and I just enjoy being in the office for almost 3 weeks. Anyway...

Looking back to our Anniversary Trip, our second and third day in our Negros Occidental adventure was filled with action packed activities. We went to Mambukal Resort after The Ruins.

On the 6th waterfalls, our tour guide told us that we could jump into the water. I am definitely game for this challenge! My husband though is just afraid of heights that I had to jump three times before he leaped into the ice cold water. The feeling after you jump 15 feet high to a 12 feet deep waterfall was super fulfilling. I don't know what calms me more, the water or when you're up in the air. What I know for sure is, it was a happy moment :)
